Highlights

MALDI Biotyper® for Veterinary Microbiology

The MALDI Biotyper®(MBT) system rapidly identifies a broad range of veterinary microorganisms, in a reliable and cost-effective manner. Microorganism identification with the MBT is based on proteomic fingerprinting using Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-Of-Flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS), with a robust and easy-to-perform workflow.

Mycobacterial infections in animals

Specific pathogenic mycobacteria represent an important challenge to animal and human health. The MBT Mycobacteria Suite from Bruker covers hundreds of reference strains, including pathogens of the结核分枝杆菌复合物(MTC)和无结核分枝杆菌(NTM), with continual updates.

概述

Pathogen identification made easy

There are two key challenge areas facing the veterinary microbiology industry: pathogens affecting animals, and control of zoonosis. The MBT increases the speed and accuracy of identifying microbial infection in animals, therefore preventing possible herd outbreaks or spread to humans. In contrast to lengthy and cumbersome phenotypic methods, MALDI-TOF MS provides microbial identification in minutes, rather than days, once the organism is cultured. The MALDI Biotyper®is recognizedOfficial Method of Analysis by AOAC INTERNATIONAL并且是ISO 16140部分6通过微验证验证确认几种食源性病原体,例如Salmonellaspp. andCampylobacter spp

Minimizing antibiotic resistance

In accordance with zoonosis surveillance, Bruker’s Selective Testing of Antimicrobial Resistance STAR®-Cepha和Star®-Carba Assays can be used in conjunction with the MBT, to identify specific microorganisms with antibiotic resistance, present in animals or animal products. This information is useful for determining the correct medication for targeting methicillin-resistant葡萄球菌(MRSA) infections, for example.

For General Purpose use [In the United States, Japan and Taiwan: For Research Use Only (RUO)].

Not for use in clinical diagnostic procedures. Please contact your local representative for availability in your country.

Bovine mastitis diagnostics

The MBT can significantly improve and facilitate the identification and differentiation of mastitis-associated链球菌spp. and related species. The system’s ability to study species and strains could provide a useful tool for studying outbreaks and transmission pathways, significantly impacting treatment of the disease.

Features and Benefits

Broad coverage of microorganisms

MBT指南针®reference library currently covers 9,607 reference spectra of 3,329 species from 593 bacteria and fungi genera, including veterinary organisms such asEnterococci以及less common species such as原发质的Brachyspira支原体。根据严格的质量控制程序,可以不断维护和更新图书馆。

Many veterinary laboratories will come across species not contained in even the most up-to-date reference library. Laboratories can use the MBT Explorer®Software module to compile customized libraries, to optimize the microorganism classification process.

与动物和食源性病原体有关的病原生物

The MALDI Biotyper®provides a high level of discrimination at the genus and species level, and represents an open system that can be complemented with the laboratory’s own reference data. This not only enables veterinary institutions to accurately and rapidly identify known infectious agents, but tracks new and emerging pathogens that can have serious consequences for animal and public health.

For general veterinary use. Not for use with human clinical samples.
