The optical configuration combined with the fast acquisition speed of the InVi SPIM enables 3D reconstruction, tracking of cellular and subcellular structures, and morphological analysis in real-time.

Typical applications of the microscope include dynamic processes in mammalian cell culture applications and even live imaging of intact and living plant models.

Advanced Illumination Module

The Advanced Illumination Module (AIM) is a modular extension that expands the capabilities of the InVi SPIM: while maintaining the ease-of-use and stability of the system, it adds tailorable, interactive adaptability of the beam shape to suit the highly specific requirements of your sample.

Adding a choice of various beam patterns – classical static Gaussian light-sheets, scanned Gaussian beams, Bessel beams, and optical lattices, or even customized shapes – provides unique flexibility to optimize your bioimaging experiments.

You choose what gives you the best results for your 3D high-resolution imaging experiment – a large field of view, high speed, or optimal spatial resolution.

Low Phototoxicity and Photobleaching

Dedicated to live imaging, the Luxendo InVi SPIM is a microscope that has been optimized for long-term 3D fluorescence imaging of living specimens.

Maximized photo-efficiency, and short illumination times enable long-term imaging without harming live specimens.

环境控制

The InVi SPIM is equipped with environmental control. Temperature can be adjusted between 20–37°C for optimal incubation conditions.

Sample Holder

The V-shaped, 3 cm long sample holder is placed inside of the chamber. It is covered with FEP foil allowing the physical separation of the sample from the chamber, without influencing imaging properties. Its reduced size ensures the use of small sample medium volume.

Different strategies can be used to place your sample in the holder for imaging. 2D cells can be grown directly on the foil as in a “curved coverglass”. 3D spheroids or small embryos can be dropped into the trough and held by gravitation, allowing multiple samples to be arranged for multi-position imaging.

The minimization of required specimen medium further leverages its functionality.

Dedicated to live imaging, the InVi SPIM offers easy access to the sample chamber and control of environmental conditions for long-term 3D fluorescence imaging of living specimen. Furthermore the InVi SPIM is much faster than a spinning disk or point scanning confocal microscope with much less photons.

我t is perfectly suited for a great variety of samples and applications ranging from cell culture to early embryos (e.g. Drosophila and Zebrafish).

我llumination and Detection

The InVi SPIM can achieve a resolution down to 255 nm in xy, enabling resolving subcellular structures in living samples free of phototoxic effects.

The system features one-sided illumination and single-lens detection, enabling fast acquisition speed, high-resolution imaging. A wide-field imaging option facilitates sample positioning.

One Nikon CFI Plan Fluor 10x W 0.3 NA water immersion objective lenses project the light-sheet on the sample. Detection includes a high numerical aperture Nikon CFI Apo 25x W 1.1 NA water immersion objective lens. An additional magnification changer results in 31.3x and 62.5x total magnification for field view and sampling adjustment according to your experimental needs

The expandable, alignment-free light source allows a range of up to six lasers (405, 445, 488, 515, 532, 561, 594, 642, and 685 nm with 40 mW each before fiber).

Compared to other techniques (e.g. confocal laser scanning and spinning disc microscopy), light-sheet microscopy enables the acquisition of a higher number of time points while minimizing photo-damaging effects. A deeper insight into dynamic biological processes and fast movement tracking can be achieved.

The InVi SPIM’s compact, vibration-free and robust design provides maximal stability during your long-term experiments.

Tailored to fit your lab bench, this class 1 laser system does not require any air table or vibration-compensation mechanism as all moving components are light-weight and balanced.

Maximal stability of focus and thermal conditions are also guaranteed. The proprietary piezo-crawler stages ensure longevity and precision for a permanently accurate specimen positioning. Neither the images nor the natural growth behaviour of your sample are affected by the gentle image recording.
