Without corrective eyewear, something as simple as short sightedness can be devastating. In developing communities, access to a pair of glasses can be life changing for a visually impaired child or adult.

Since opening the Bruker BioSpin Thailand office 25 years ago, we have continued our investment programme in the country.

Finding enough talented, qualified workers has long been a challenge for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) businesses. According to 2019 data from Ranstad North America, as of 2016 the US had roughly 3 million more STEM jobs than it had workers to fill them. Add to this shortfall that, between 2017 and 2027, the number of STEM positions in the USA is set to grow 13 percent, and the resource gap is clear.

As part of Bruker's ongoing sustainability drive, employees in France, Germany and Switzerland have launched a campaign to collect corks in support of Germany's Naturschutzbund, an environmental protection non-government organisation (NGO).

This initiative to help underprivileged children in developing countries is making a huge difference to people's lives. We plan to continue this project, which has become an ongoing charity program at Bruker France.

As a humanitarian gesture during the global COVID-19 pandemic, our Bruker Malaysia (Penang) plant donated face masks and hand sanitizers to Penang for use by law enforcement officers and workers to use in their daily activities.

Christmas signifies a time when families come together to share and celebrate. Yet, it is precisely this time of the year when gaps in family unity and the lack of funds are keenly felt by less fortunate members of society.
